At All The Right Notes we employees like to hear peoples views on our competitors so we know how we can better serve our customer (not to mention earn some new ones). The other day I was talking to my friend Colin, who happens to be in a band that tours nationwide. They do not sell out stadiums yet, but they can sell out a club now and again. I was asking him and his band mates where they go to purchase their instruments. This opened Pandora's box. They all just began to rant how much they despise commercial instrument retail shops like Guitar Center and how they all like to support smaller stores, not to mention they are just a more enjoyable shopping experience. This got me thinking, how on earth will All the Right Notes change that notion of bigger stores being hated.
I suppose there is various ways. The biggest one is customer service. I feel like that is where Guitar Center looses most. The people that work there may know their stuff, but they spend all their time helping themselves to all the music, not the costumer. At All the Right Notes, the customer is our only priority. We are not open to the public on Mondays for a reason. This gives employees a day to come in on their own leasure and browse and look at what they sell in private. This helps them focus on customers during their job. Another thing I was thinking we could do is donations. There are hundreds of local bands around the area that are all getting their start in the music industry. If we can convince this new group that we are the store to shop at, that can open doors. Maybe donate a guitar or new amp to a struggling band with potential! Who knows, just ideas. Anyways I should get to work, Peace!
