heres my entry

Pirated music is a legitimate threat to the music industry. After doing some research on the issue of illegal downloads and the pirating of music the statistics I have found are extremely alarming. One of the most shocking statistics I found came from the AFPI. According to the AFPI 95% of downloaded music is pirated. 95%! That number is just absolutely mind boggling! It is still pretty impressive though that in 2008 the music business made 3.7 billion in digital downloads. That's pretty good for only collecting on 5% of music downloads. Another interesting statistic was that the average teen's Ipod has $800 worth of pirated music. The music industry is in serious jeopardy because of illegal downloads and needs to develop a way to keep pirated music off of the internet. It is just ridiculous that they are able to make a profit with such a huge problem with theft. The problem is finding a solution. Do you have any ideas? It doesn't seem like anyone is coming up with any good solutions any time soon.
